Try Try and Try Again!

I don't know about you but sometimes I struggle to create a card.  Ideas and cards do not always just happen.  They take time, effort and re-creating.  I received a new die from Spellbinders and I wanted to create a card with it.
  

This was my first attempt.  It does not look right at all.  It is in my words blah!  It needed help so I tried again.

This attempt was an improvement but it still did not look finished to me.  To be honest this was my third attempt at this card.  I spared you the first look.  So back to the drawing board to create again.

So this final card had the look I wanted.  I used cranberry card stock for the base added the kiwi green card stock and the die was cut out of whip cream card stock.  I then ran the whip cream piece through my embosser adding the wood grain look.  Then I added some FSJ silks in silver and gold to pull out the colors in the tree.  I added a tag and used two pieces of twine in cranberry and gold.

Tealightful Tea Party Part Two

The day was filled with so much laughter.  We started the day with some Breakfast nibbles -  sausage rolls, muffins, fruit and of course tea!

Lunch was served around noon.  English pub style meal - Shepherds Pie, Carrots, Broccoli and a roll.  We had no leftovers!

The gals enjoyed working on the projects I shared in Tuesdays blog plus they had time to work on projects they brought with them. 

Afternoon tea was served around 2:30 and we all enjoyed Maids of Honor, Bread Pudding and biscuits (cookies as you Americans know them).

A special thanks to my Mum for all her help with the food and assisting in the kitchen.  Could not have done it without you!

 

Tealightful Tea Party Part One

This past Saturday I host my fourth annual Tealightful Tea Party.  It was so much fun.  Seventeen joined me for a day filled with crafting, yummy food, prizes and laughter.  I want to share the projects we made.  We used the FSJ ATS stamp Just For You (now retired) but  I have a couple if you would like to purchase one.

Love this clean simple card.  The mini paperclip at the top is a favorite on many projects I create.

This a what I call a clean and simple card.  Love the oval off to the right side the ribbon on the left side.

Something new and different, a tri-fold card. Love the bright watermelon fusion color combination with the River Stone.

This was the last card we made and its another clean and simple card.  Love the embossed background card-stock on this one.  

This is a gift card holder and is perfect for inside a card.  Dresses up a gift card when you are sending it in the mail or just giving one as a gift. 

The last gift we made was this darling card carrier.  It will hold four cards.  Perfect for a hostess gift or to share with a friend.

Busy

The 4th Annual Tealightful Tea Party is happening this Saturday!  My to do list is long.    I am busy getting things prepped and organized.  

I also excited and looking forward to seeing so many friends and also meet some new friends that are coming.

I also feel like I am roller skates!  Moving around from one completed project to another.

Pop Of Color

Sometimes all ready need is small pop of color to make a card special.  This card was created in black and white with just a simple pop of our FSJ Candy Apple Red ink.

Love this look and the sentiment really stands out.  The stamp and die set is a favorite I find myself using over and over.  It is our Dahlia Burst set BD-0063.  So versatile and fun to create with.

This weeks crush on color features our Confectionery Days color set.  Love it!
