Bloom Box Shenanigans

I love sharing the Fun Stampers Bloom Box with friends.  The last Tuesday of each month I put the kettle on and look forward to the arrival of the "gals" that have signed up for the monthly Bloom Box Subscription.

The morning is filled with creativity and laughter!  Each gal brings there bloom box that was delivered to their home.  I put out all the ink pads, liquid color, embossing powder etc... the gals need to complete the four cards.

The four cards, all accessories and detailed instruction book are provided.  Each month we are learning a new technique or way to use our tools.  This month we learned how to apply liquid color directly to the stamp and create a fun image.

If you would like to create four awesome cards and learn new ways to use your stamps, ink pads and other tools - sign up for a Bloom Box Subscription and join us.

The September Box is filled with bright colors, instruments and we will be learning how to create a shaker card.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

Playing With Paste

You might be wondering about the title of my post playing with paste, well its modeling paste I have been playing with.  I have just discovered this Fun Stampers Journey product and I am loving it!

The modeling paste is white and you can leave it white or make it any color you would like by adding some liquid color to it.  I added some lovely blue to my paste and created the soft blue.  I took  a 5.5 X 4.25 piece of white card stock and placed a stencil over it and then I spread the paste over the top and covered the sheet.  You do need to let this dry overnight.

The next day once the paste was dry I created cards using the back grounds I had created.  I was able to create numerous cards all with different looks.

It might be hard to tell but I dusted this background with our gold pan pastel to pull out the haystack colored card stock and ribbon.

This one was done in a totally different direction with a totally different look.

If you are wanting to try modeling paste or stencils now is a great time to while they are one sale for 20% off.  Don't wait the sale ends Friday at midnight.  Just click on the shopping cart to place an order.

Happy Birthday

Its my son-in-law's Birthday tomorrow. Its time to celebrate!  We are so lucky to have Chris in our family.  Chris and our daughter Pam were married last year in a beautiful ceremony in Portland Oregon.

It was time to create a masculine Birthday Card. I had fun creating this card with Chris in mind.

The card was created on with our Black Licorice card stock so I wanted to create a space on the inside I include a personal message   you can't write on black card stock very well.

Clean & Simple

I have to admit I over think my cards at times.  I spend to much time trying to get the perfect layout, adding bling in just the right spot or ribbon or words.  I am learning that sometimes all you need to do is make a clean and simple card.

This card is what I consider to be clean and simple.  I have not added much to it.  A couple of strips of card stock to pull out the colors in the pattered paper,  a sentiment and the paper clip with a smidge of  ribbon attached.

Just Flowers

This past week I stepped out of my comfort zone and worked with a new to me Fun Stampers Journey product Modeling Paste. I have never in all my years of creating cards worked with it. It was a first and I loved how easy it is to work with and the beautiful card I created with it.

I added liquid color to the modeling paste and created two colors, placed a stencil over the whip cream card stock and added the paste.  I pulled the stencil off and allowed them to dry overnight.

I used additional Fun Stampers Journey Products to create the card above.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment and let me know.
Below are the supplies I used.

Don't forget our August promotion includes the Fun Stampers Journey Modeling paste and Stencils!

August Bloom Box

I am going to be honest and tell you when I first heard about the Bloom Boxes offered by Fun Stampers Journey I was not interested.  I did not want the monthly expense and honestly I was not sure they were worth the money.  I held off ordering them until this past spring when I gave in and decided to make an informed decision by experiencing one.  It only took one Bloom Box and I am addicted to them!

Each month a box arrives on my door step filled with a full size stamp set (that I can use with other cards or projects as well), 4 cards designed, cut and ready for me to stamp and assemble. All of the accessories for each card are also included.

The box also includes a colorful booklet with step by step instructions for each card.  I have found through experience, each kit introduces me to a new technique I have not tried before. I love learning something new each month.

The box also allows me to try FSJ products prior to purchasing them.  This is especially true with the accessories.  I have enjoyed trying new ribbons, buttons, twine and washi prior to ordering a spiral of ribbon or other accessories.

This also provided me with a variety of cards to choose from quickly.  Sometimes I don't have the time to make a card I just need to send one off quickly.  Having a few Bloom Box cards completed offers me options to choose from.

If there is a particular product I enjoy working with, I know I can order it from the catalog.  Oh and did I mention there is a You Tube video that you can also watch to assist in putting the card together should you want to watch it.

Bloom Boxes can be ordered one month at a time or you may purchase a six month subscription for a reduced rate. Who can resist this great versatile August Bloom Box?
